Elizabeth Núñez - Artistic Director
Elizabeth created and directs the Young Peoples’ Chorus of NYC Cantare Chorus and serves as vocal coach for YPC divisions. As the director of the YPC Satellite Schools program, she works with NYC Public Schools to bring a choral experience to almost 900 children annually. Since joining YPC in 2004, Mrs. Nunez has led Cantare at International Choral Festivals in Kathaumixw, British Columbia and Llangollen, Wales. She made her conducting debut at Carnegie Hall with YPC and the New York Pops in 2007 and sang the soprano solos for Mendelssohn’s “A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream” at the Metropolitan Opera in 2007 and 2010. She is also the co-founder and artistic director of the SoHarmoniums. As a choral clinician, she gives workshops around the country and locally. Mrs. Núñez received her Masters Degree in Music Education from the Univ. of Oklahoma and completed her undergraduate studies at Lee University.
Taisiya Pushkar - Pianist
Described as 'a graceful pianist', with an 'impeccable sense of timing', Taisiya Pushkar enjoys a vibrant career as a collaborative pianist, in demand as a dynamic performer and a sensitive collaborator. She has made her debuts at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York, and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with the Dutch cellist Amber Docters van Leeuwen.
Dr. Pushkar is on the faculty of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, the Horace Mann School, and of the Lucy Moses School at Kaufman Center, of which she is an alumna. Taisiya holds a Bachelor's Degree from Oberlin College, and a MM and DMA Degrees from the Manhattan School of Music.
